Oleg Tselkov is a Russian nonconformist artist, celebrated for his images of faces painted in bright color, depicting inner psychological patterns of violence in contemporary culture. These portraits are an original response to the formal methods of the Severe Style, with Tselkov also looking to modern primitivism and the late works of Malevich for inspiration. In 2004, a solo exhibition was held for Tselkov at the Russian Museum and the State Tretyakov Gallery.
